Each "First Thursday" begins with an ArtWalk from
6-8pm, followed by a Gathering at Main Street Coffee, 111 Main Street (Route 5) in Batavia at 8pm. Entertainment is provided at Main Street Coffee as well as at other locations, and sidewalk sales and special promotions will be held throughout the summer and fall months. Starting in September, GO ART! will be offering "Explore Art!" youth activities for free (compliments of Bank of America) from 6-8pm at the GO ART! Cultural Center. Artists' works remain on display at each venue for the entire month. There is no admission for the event.

The event is patterned after Saratoga, New York's "First Thursdays" and is a year-round endeavor that offers an opportunity for businesses and artists to work together to promote each other while providing a venue for the general public to get together in Batavia’s downtown.
